Why we exist

Built to help carriers recover revenue already earned.

Trucking companies should not need a dedicated back-office recovery department to keep valid accessorial revenue from disappearing in routine paperwork.

The observation

The truck completes the work. The billing file often lags behind.

Rate confirmations, arrival and departure times, PODs, receipts, approvals and settlements are created by different people in different systems. That fragmentation creates a financial-control problem.

Freight Claim Recovery is designed to take over the administrative review: organize the file, identify potentially supportable charges, surface missing evidence, prepare the package and track the outcome—while keeping the carrier in control.

Founder

Rob Marunchak

Rob operates Merrit Capital, an equipment-finance business that works with trucking companies and manages document-heavy, multi-party financial workflows involving customers, vendors, lenders, approvals, follow-up and reconciliation.

The insight behind Freight Claim Recovery is operational: when financial value depends on many small handoffs, disciplined review and follow-up matter.

Operating principles

Useful, controlled and financially aligned.

The service is being built around the carrier’s outcome—not around selling another software login.

Outcome first

The carrier wants recovered revenue and a clean file, not another dashboard.

Evidence over assumptions

Missing facts become exceptions, not invented claim support.

Carrier approval

The carrier remains responsible for factual accuracy and external submission.

Automation with controls

Routine review can be automated while policy, judgment and escalation stay governed.

Service area

Canada, the United States and cross-border freight.

We initially focus on small and midsized for-hire carriers with digital rate confirmations and PODs, meaningful brokered freight and no dedicated accessorial-recovery team.

Every jurisdiction, broker and load agreement can be different. We begin with a controlled administrative review and do not present the service as legal advice or unrestricted debt collection.

Start with a small test

Send 10 recent loads. We’ll do the digging.

We will review the available rate confirmations, PODs/BOLs and supporting records, then tell you which loads may contain supportable detention or accessorial charges.
